1. How long wiLL the color cleansing conditioners last?
Our Color Cleansing Conditioners contain semi permanent direct dye pigments and will gradually fade out from the hair. The amount of time the product will last in the hair is dependent on the condition and porosity of the hair and the intensity of the shade. Lighter colors tend to fade out faster, like Blush, Rose Gold, & Lilac.
The more stubborn shades are the Blue, Purple, & Sangria which tend to stay in the hair the longest. If your hair is damaged and very processed, you may see a much longer fade out process. For the more stubborn shades, a direct dye remover may be needed. We do suggest any time you are doing a drastic color change, to consult with a salon professional.
2. How do I remove the color cleansing conditioners from my hair?
If you want to remove the Color Cleansing Conditioners, we recommend you stop using and switch to a clarifying shampoo. What colors you use, how often you used them, & the
condition/porosity of your hair will depend on how long it takes to fade out. Lighter colors
tend to fade out faster like Blush, Rose Gold, & Lilac. The more stubborn shades are Blue,
Purple, & Sangria which tend to stay in the hair the longest. The stubborn shades may
require the use of a direct dye remover. We do suggest any time you are doing a drastic color change, to consult with a salon professional.
3. Why did the Lilac, Blush, or the Rose Gold not show up in my hair?
The Lilac & Blush tones are best used on hair that is very light blonde or pre-lightened. This is due to these colors being pastel shades and having a lot less direct dye pigments then the
more bold colors. If you have virgin hair, you may try applying to dry hair and more
consecutive washes or longer processing times may also be needed. Rose Gold works best
on medium blonde hair or lighter. The lighter the hair, the better deposit you will see. For
darker blonde hair, Magenta would be a better option.
4. Will Cocoa cover my gray hair?
Our products contain semi permanent direct dye pigments so they are not recommended for
full gray coverage. You may see some gray blending from certain colors. However, not all gray hair will pick up the color. Some people have great results and some do not
see anything.
5. How do I choose between Silver or Platinum for toning my hair?
Silver works best to neutralize brassy orange tones. This is not recommended for hair that has yellow tones as it could turn the hair green due to the blue base. Platinum works best to neutralize yellow tones from the hair.
6. Will Color Cleansing Conditioners show up on dark hair?
On dark hair that is color treated, you will see more of a jewel-tone effect that can be seen in direct sunlight with the more vibrant shades. Our Color Cleansing Conditioners do not have the ability to lighten or lift your current hair color.
7. Can I use Color Cleansing Conditioners on virgin hair?
Yes, you can use color cleansing conditioners on virgin hair. You may need more consecutive washes and longer processing times to achieve the results you are looking for. Also, be sure you are choosing a shade that will work with your current hair color. Our Color Cleansing Conditioners do not have the ability to lighten or lift your current hair color.
8. How often should I use Color Cleansing Conditioners?
Our color is build-able, meaning color is deposited onto the hair with each wash. If you are using the product to refresh your already colored hair, we recommend using 1 – 2 times a week to refresh the color. If you are starting with no color in the hair, more consecutive washes and longer processing times may be needed. Once you have achieved your desired results, then you can continue to use 1 – 2 times a week to refresh the color. Also, once you begin to use a traditional shampoo, the color will begin to fade.
9. How to do a PAtch test
Precautions: With any dye, this product may cause skin irritation on certain individuals. A preliminary patch and strand test should be performed before use.
Select a small, discreet area such as behind the ear or in the inner fold of the elbow. Wash the test area with mild soap and water, then dry it with a clean towel. Apply a thin layer of any Color Lux product to the test area and allow it to dry. Leave the test area uncovered and undisturbed for 24 hours. After 24 hours, carefully examine the test area for any signs of irritation.
If you notice any irritation, do not use the product.
10. How to do a Strand test
1. If your patch test goes well, you can perform a strand test to test out color!
Take a small strand of the hair, usually in a more hidden part of your head
2. Leave the product on for 5-10 min.
3. Check if you like the color and saturation levels, leaving it on for different amounts of time depending on the intensity you are looking for.
